Media Scrum has strengthened its combat sports commercial team with the appointment of former professional boxer and world champion boxing coach Ben Savva as Sales Manager for the International Brawling Championship (IBC).
In his new role, Ben will lead sponsorship sales for IBC, working with brands to identify and develop partnership opportunities across the championship’s live events, broadcast coverage, digital platforms, content and hospitality assets.

Ben brings an extensive understanding of the combat sports industry, developed through his experience inside and outside the boxing ring. His background as a professional boxer and world champion coach gives him a valuable perspective on the athletes, audiences, commercial relationships and cultural dynamics that shape successful combat sports partnerships.
The appointment comes as IBC continues to build its profile as an emerging combat sports property, creating new opportunities for brands seeking to connect with engaged audiences through high-impact live entertainment, broadcast exposure, digital content and experiential activation.

Ben said he was excited to join Media Scrum and help brands understand the broader commercial potential of partnering with IBC.
“Combat sports provide brands with an incredibly powerful platform because the audience is passionate, loyal and deeply invested in the athletes and the action,” said Ben.
“Having spent so much of my career in boxing, I understand the sport, the people involved and what makes combat sports audiences respond. I also understand that a successful sponsorship needs to deliver more than brand exposure. It needs to create a genuine connection between the partner, the event and the fans.
“IBC is building something fresh and exciting, and I’m looking forward to working with brands to create partnerships that are commercially valuable, authentic and aligned with their marketing objectives,” he added.
Media Scrum Director of Strategy Trent Dyball said Ben’s appointment would add significant specialist knowledge and credibility to the IBC sales program.
“Ben brings a rare combination of elite combat sports experience, strong industry relationships and a clear understanding of the commercial opportunities available to brands,” Trent said.
“He understands the sport from the inside, but he also understands how to translate that knowledge into meaningful sponsorship opportunities. That will be enormously valuable as we continue to build the commercial program around IBC.
“Our approach at Media Scrum is to develop bespoke partnerships rather than simply sell a standard list of assets. Ben’s knowledge will help us better understand what brands want to achieve and connect those objectives with the most relevant IBC platforms, content and experiences.”
As Sales Manager, Ben will work closely with the Media Scrum and IBC teams to identify prospective partners, develop tailored sponsorship proposals and build long-term commercial relationships.
The IBC sponsorship platform offers brands access to a range of opportunities, including event branding, broadcast and digital integration, branded content, on-site activations, premium hospitality, audience engagement and category-specific partnership rights.
“Ben’s appointment highlights Media Scrum’s commitment to building a specialist sales team capable of delivering sustainable commercial growth for IBC and measurable value for its partners,” Trent explained. “The strongest sports partnerships are created when the rights holder, the sales team and the brand all understand what success looks like.
“He gives us another experienced voice at the table and strengthens our ability to create partnerships that work for IBC, its audience and the brands that choose to join the journey,” Trent added.
Brands interested in exploring a partnership with IBC can contact the Media Scrum team to discuss the available opportunities and the development of a bespoke sponsorship package aligned with their marketing goals.
